‘Own Brand’ white and dark rum recalled from Asda and Aldi due to fragments of glass in bottles

The Food Standards Agency is warning consumers that some bottles of white and dark rum sold in Asda and Aldi may contain glass.

Producer Glen Turner Co. Ltd supplier to the two supermarket chains has recalled the 70cl bottles on a precautionary basis because the products may contain small fragments of glass.

Own brand products are affected by the recall including Asda’s Carta Blanca Superior White Rum and Refined Dark Navy Rum and Aldi’s Old Hopking brands.

As a precautionary measure the 70cl bottles of dark rum and white rum are being rcalled as there is a small risk they may contain fragments of glass.

Customers are asked to return any of the products to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given, no receipt will be needed.
