On a day when a damning report by the the Privileges Committee revealed Boris Johnson had misled Parliament over lockdown parties, the BBC’s flagship programme, Question Time, gears up to ignite fervent political discourse at the Iceland Foods’ headquarters this evening.

Fiona Bruce, the show’s presenter, is set to chair an hour-long discussion from the Deeside Industrial Estate base.

Among those joining Bruce on the panel is Secretary of State for Wales and Conservative MP for Monmouth, David TC Davies.

Providing a Labour perspective will be David Blunkett, a stalwart of the party who has been a Member of the House of Lords since 2015.

David Linden, representing the Scottish National Party and MP for Glasgow East, will bring a Scottish viewpoint to the debate.

Providing a media perspective, Charlotte Ivers, Political Correspondent at Times Radio, will join the panel.

Guto Harri, a former BBC journalist and Communications Director at No 10, who having been appointed by Boris Johnson in February 2022, will round out the lineup.

Intriguingly, the panel does not include any Senedd Members or local politicians.

Filming is set to take place at 8pm tonight at the Iceland HQ.

Notably, Iceland Foods boss Richard Walker has political aspirations of his own.

Earlier this year, he made a bid to become a Conservative MP and is reportedly on the Tory party’s approved list of parliamentary candidates.

For those interested in the crisscrossing of politics, debate, and current affairs, Question Time in Deeside will be broadcast on BBC 1 after the 10 o’clock news.
