Flintshire Council updates on waste collections impacted by snow and ice

Flintshire Council has provided an update on waste collections following recent disruptions caused by snow and icy conditions.
The council has said it is prioritising resources to collect black bins missed on Saturday, 4 January, and Monday, 6 January.
Affected residents are advised to place their black bins at the kerbside by 7 am on Saturday, 11 January 2025, for collection.
This applies to the following areas:
- Holywell, Carmel, Holway, Gorsedd, Babell, Ysceifiog, Afonwen, Caerwys, Lloc, Pantasaph, Rhosesmor, Pentre Halkyn, and rural lanes around Whitford, Trelogan, Axton, Llanasa, Gwaenysgor, Trelawnyd, Tre-Mostyn, and Brynford.
However, recycling and food waste collections that were missed will not be rescheduled.
Instead, residents are encouraged to hold onto their recycling and food waste until their next scheduled collection date or to make use of the council’s household recycling centres.
Snow and icy conditions have also disrupted planned collections in the following areas, where waste services will not operate today:
- Coed Talon
- Rhydtalog
- Treuddyn
- Llanfynydd
- Leeswood
- Pontybodkin
Meanwhile, waste and recycling rounds are running as scheduled today in areas including Penyffordd, Penymynydd, Hope, Broughton, Saltney, and Higher Kinnerton.
Flintshire Council apologised for the inconvenience caused by the disruptions and thanked residents for their patience.
