Blue Light Card, the UK’s leading discount provider for emergency services, NHS staff, teachers, social care workers, and armed forces, has joined forces with delivery giant Deliveroo to offer free Deliveroo Plus Silver membership to its members.

This 12-month partnership, launching today, 10th October 2024, will save cardholders over £40 a year and grant them access to free deliveries on eligible orders.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to reward the essential workers who play a crucial role in keeping the UK safe, healthy, and supported.

With over 4 million members, Blue Light Card is the only discount platform to secure this exclusive deal with Deliveroo.

A Year of Perks and Free Delivery

Members who sign up for Deliveroo Plus Silver will benefit from free deliveries on orders over £15 from restaurants and over £25 from grocery or retail outlets, including popular chains like Nando’s, Sainsbury’s, Boots, and Waitrose.

Additionally, they will have access to exclusive local offers and the Deliveroo Rewards programme, which offers £8 off a 4th order after three consecutive purchases at the same place within 30 days.

Andy Collins, COO of Blue Light Card, commented: “We’re proud to offer Blue Light members this new benefit, which not only gives them access to exclusive deals but also provides greater convenience, whether they’re ordering to their home or workplace. For many shift workers, being able to have their favourite meals or essentials delivered around the clock is a game-changer.”

Celebrating Essential Workers

Caroline Harris, Deliveroo’s VP of Marketing for the UK and Ireland, added: “This partnership is our way of expressing gratitude to essential workers for their incredible efforts every day. We are excited to offer them Deliveroo Plus Silver for free, with free deliveries and exclusive discounts from local restaurants, grocers, and retailers.”

With over 13,000 deals available, from high street shops to cinema tickets and theme parks, Blue Light Card has already helped its members save more than £330 million this year. The addition of Deliveroo’s service marks a new level of convenience for frontline workers, with deliveries available directly to their homes or places of work.

Eligible workers can easily register online for a Blue Light Card, which costs £4.99 and is valid for two years. Once registered, members can claim their free Deliveroo Plus Silver membership via the Blue Light Card website.
