Married for 39 years to Eleanor, and with two children, Blair started working fifty years ago at the age of eleven selling newspapers in his Scottish home town of Ayr.
At the age of nineteen Blair started his own business in retailing. In 1976 Blair joined Scottish Television as advertising executive and moved on to joining a national advertising agency which would lead him to eventually moving to his present location of Chester where he built a regional advertising agency to a national group employing 70 people.
Leaving the hustle and bustle of marketing, Blair set up a family business in interiors where he was joined with his wife, son, and daughter. Whilst having built a highly successful regional company, Blair’s main interest was always in politics and at the age of sixty-one felt that UKIP would value the experience gained over the years.
