A newly released image has revealed how Flint’s forthcoming Banking Hub will look, as part of a planning application submitted for approval.

The hub is set to open at 19-21 Church Street following the closure of the Flint TSB branch on 29 May 2025.

The image, included in a heritage statement prepared by Ridge & Partners LLP for Cash Access UK Limited, provides the first visual representation of the proposed signage and branding.

Plans include heritage-style signage with individual lettering, illuminated projecting signs, and marketing posters designed to complement the conservation area’s character.

The application states that while the building is not listed, efforts have been made to ensure the signage blends with the historic high street.

The building itself requires some external repairs, including redecoration of the façade, but remains in good internal condition.

The proposal also includes replacing the panel surrounding the overnight safe with a composite panel featuring vinyl branding, ensuring minimal impact on the building’s original appearance.

Flint’s new Banking Hub is being delivered by Cash Access UK, a not-for-profit organisation set up by major UK banks to ensure communities have access to essential banking services.

The hub will include a counter service run by the Post Office, where customers of any bank can deposit and withdraw cash, pay bills, and carry out everyday banking transactions.

Private spaces will also be available for customers to speak with representatives from their banks on designated days.

The move follows LINK’s recommendation for a Banking Hub in Flint after concerns were raised about the impact of TSB’s closure.

Town councillors had warned the decision could leave residents and businesses without crucial banking services, leading to fears that Flint would become a “banking desert.”

If the signage application is approved, it will mark a significant step forward in bringing the hub to life.
