Investigation launched after three HGV’s destroyed by fire in Sandycroft on Wednesday night

An arson investigation has been launched after three lorry cabs were destroyed by fire on Wednesday night.
The fire broke out at Trade Effluent Services Ltd on Factory Road just before 10pm on Wednesday evening.
Three fire appliances attended the scene, two from Deeside and one from Buckley.
Police confirmed they are treating the blaze as an arson attack.
Local residents reported hearing multiple explosions as the flames engulfed the three cabs.
Sharon Edwards told Deeside.com:
“I heard loud bangs. So went outside. I could see the glow from the trucks already on fire. My neighbour came out the same time.
I asked if she had called the fire brigade. She hasn’t so I ran in and called them.”
Leah Jones sent this video last night which shows smoke rising, flames can be seen in the background and an explosion can be heard.
A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said:
“We were called to reports of three lorry cans on fire at a premises on Factory Road at 9,49pm.
Two appliances from Deeside and one from Buckley attended.
The cabs of three heavy good vehicles were 100% destroyed by fire.
Fire investigators will examine the scene today.”.
It is the second blaze at the firm’s yard, in late December firefighters were called to a blaze involving three lorries, they were also destroyed.
