Drug dealer jailed after stopping train near Rhyl

A drug dealer who repeatedly pulled an emergency cord to stop a train near Rhyl has been jailed for three years and four months following a British Transport Police (BTP) investigation.
Joyce Mukuna, 23, was travelling to Holyhead when he pulled the cord, claiming he had missed his stop.
When the train guard confronted him, Mukuna, who was behaving erratically, pulled the cord again and acted aggressively.
After the train eventually resumed its journey, Mukuna disembarked at Colwyn Bay, where he attempted to flee from police officers at the station.
He was quickly detained, and officers discovered a sock containing crack cocaine and heroin.
Mukuna, of no fixed address, admitted causing an obstruction of the railway but denied two counts of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.
However, he was found guilty following a trial at Mold Crown Court and sentenced on Wednesday, 22 January.
Investigating officer PC Lisa Scott-Savage condemned Mukuna’s actions, highlighting the disruption he caused.
“Mukuna’s behaviour on the train and treatment of the guard was totally unacceptable. Not only can the disruption be costly to the rail network, but it can impact the days of hundreds of passengers.
“There is no place for drugs on the railway, and our officers work tirelessly to tackle this criminality. I’m pleased to see this sentence handed down.
“I remind passengers to save our text-to-report number 61016, and to report any crimes or concerns on the railway to us so we can take action.”*
