Police are investigating what could possibly be an attempted distraction theft on Queensferry Asda car park on Monday

Reports say a male climbed into the back of a woman’s car at Asda Queensferry yesterday while she was being distracted by another man.

The female shopper made her way back to her car after returning a shopping trolley, a male approached the woman asking where the nearest hospital was, as he was doing so another man climbed into the back of her car and lay down.

The woman’s friend who saw what was going on approached the man in the car telling him to get out, it’s believed they both ran off.

In incident happened close to the front doors at Asda around 4.40pm on Monday, police say the matter is being investigated.

In September, two thieves used distraction techniques to steal from shopper in the car park of Broughton Retail Park.

A woman was followed by what police describe as a ‘foreign male’ from the Tesco supermarket to Asda homestore.

She was then followed back to her vehicle where a female suspect was waiting at her vehicle which was parked in the disabled bay.

The female suspect distracted the victim while the man stole  her bank card from her purse which was in the vehicle.
