Construction starts at Flying Start Centre Ysgol Bryn Deva – Connah`s Quay

Construction of the new Flying Start childcare centre in Connah`s Quay gets underway this week.

During the next few days the boundary will be secured and ground levelling work will take place.

Its envisaged the work will take around 22 weeks and is due to open in September.

The new facility will offer childcare services, parenting programmes and health sessions to 48 local families – double its current capacity.

Welsh Government grant of £825,000 is paying for the purpose-built centre.

Vaughan Gething, deputy minister for tackling poverty in Wales said:

“The expansion of our Flying Start programme is progressing well in Flintshire, and over 1,000 children will be supported through the programme this year.

“The Welsh Government has invested just over £1.2 million in capital projects to support the roll out of Flying Start across the county. This has enabled us to create high quality settings for Flying Start children and families within communities in Flintshire.”
