Work begins on Broughton parking ‘blackspot’

Road improvements have begun at a parking blackspot after residents raised concerns with Alyn and Deeside AM Carl Sargeant.

Constituents living near the junction of Parkfield Road and Broughton Hall Road, Broughton, got in touch with Carl via a residents’ survey, which is posted through letterboxes every few months to give recipients a quick and easy way to contact him with any concerns.

They were worried about unsafe parking of cars near the junction and Carl wrote to Flintshire Council on their behalf to ask them to look at the problem.

Work has now begun on the creation of restrictive road markings at the junction.

Carl said:

“One resident got in touch with me to say the work has now started, which they were pleased and relieved to see.
“It’s always good when I am able to intervene and ensure a problem is addressed quickly. I hope there will be no further issues for residents in Parkfield Road and Broughton Hall Road.
“I would like to thank Flintshire Council for their quick response and their efficiency in starting the work.
