Staff at RSPCA’s Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre in north Wales have issued an urgent appeal for blankets to provide comfort for the rescue dogs in their care.

The centre, at Upper Colywn Bay, Conwy, is currently very low on blankets which are used in their kennels.

Animal care assistant Abbie Griffith said:

“We’re down to our last pile of blankets and we’ll be struggling to provide enough comfort for our dogs by next week.

“We are appealing for anyone who has any spare blankets or sheets to please bring them in so we can put them to good use.

“The only thing we can’t accept are feather duvets, pillows and sleeping bags, anything else we can put to use.”

Bryn-Y-Maen has several dogs in their care at the moment who are patiently waiting for their forever home.

One of them is April who has been in RSPCA care for more than 12 months. She has had a turbulent past and Bryn-y-Maen is her first loving ‘home’.

“For dogs like April who have been in our care far too long, a comfy bed is one of the things she has to look forward to at the end of the day,” added Abbie.

Donations of blankets can be made directly to the animal centre. If you would like to give April or any of the animals at Bryn-y-Maen a fresh start please please get in touch by calling 0300 123 0745 or email [email protected].

The centre is open between 11am and 4pm everyday, except Wednesdays.
