Sandycroft Car Compound Fire 52 vehicles damaged on Thursday Night

Firefighters were called to Prince William Avenue, Sandycroft at 23.43hrs to deal with a fire affecting 52 cars in an accident recovery car compound.

Two crews from Deeside and crews from Flint and Chester as well as the Incident Command Unit from Rhyl tackled the fire using breathing apparatus, two hose reels and four main jets.

The cause of the fire is thought to have been an electrical fault on one of the vehicles in the compound.
