Rapist sentenced to 10 Years: Flintshire man convicted on two counts of rape
A Flintshire man has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for rape.
Thomas Ebbs, 28, of Caergwrle appeared at Mold Crown Court today convicted on two counts of rape.
In addition to the custodial sentence, he must register as a sex offender for life and was also made the subject of a restraining order, prohibiting him from contacting the victim indefinitely.
Investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Helen Evans said: “I welcome today’s sentence and I hope this shows to other victims of such serious and life changing offences that we take all incidents of Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) very seriously, and that these offences are a high priority for the force.
“This was an incredibly difficult investigation for the victim, who has shown immense courage throughout.”
“I applaud her for taking the difficult step in reporting the matter to us at the outset and I hope she can now focus on trying to re-build her life.”
“I would encourage other victims to get in touch if they have been the victim of a similar crime by calling 101, 999, or via the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) on 01492 805384.”
“We will continue to place offenders before the court to face justice for heinous crimes such as these.”
