Police pursuit through Flintshire ends in Prestatyn

Police are hunting the occupants of a stolen vehicle which officers had been pursuing through Flintshire.
The stolen car, believed to be a black Mini was found abandoned in the North Avenue area of Prestatyn.
The Hawarden based police helicopter was brought in to help search for the occupants of the car.

Pictures posted on the social media show a police BMW X5 armed response vehicle which appears to have been damaged in a collision with a Hyundai i10 close to the to the town’s library.
A post on the @NWPPrestatyn twitter account states:
“We were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle which had failed to stop for officers several times.
The vehicle has been abandoned in #Prestatyn and officers are currently searching along with the police helicopter for the occupants of the car.”
Police have asked anyone with information to call them on 101 quoting reference X003920.
A55 pursuit
Police are also appealing for witnesses following a two-car collision on the A55 in the Northop area last night, Tuesday, December 8.
The collision happened at around 6.45pm on the eastbound carriageway at junction 33.
Police say officers were pursuing the vehicle when it collided with a second vehicle.
The incident prompted a large emergency service response and the eastbound carriageway was closed while the collision was dealt with.
Police also say the collision resulted in “minor injuries only.”
Two men have were arrested.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital suffering from shock.
The road was closed for around 6 hours, it reopened at midnight.
