Police pursuit through Flintshire ends in Prestatyn

Police are hunting the occupants of a stolen vehicle which officers had been pursuing through Flintshire. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The stolen car, believed to be a black Mini was found abandoned in the North Avenue area of Prestatyn. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The Hawarden based police helicopter was brought in to help search for the occupants of the car.  ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Pictures posted on the social media show a police BMW X5 armed response vehicle which appears to have been damaged in a collision with a Hyundai i10 close to the to the town’s library.    ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

A post on the @NWPPrestatyn twitter account states: ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

“We were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle which had failed to stop for officers several times.
 
The vehicle has been abandoned in #Prestatyn and officers are currently searching along with the police helicopter for the occupants of the car.” ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Police have asked anyone with information to call them on 101 quoting reference X003920. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

A55 pursuit  ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Police are also appealing for witnesses following a two-car collision on the A55 in the Northop area last night, Tuesday, December 8.  ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The collision happened at around 6.45pm on the eastbound carriageway at junction 33. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Police say officers were pursuing the vehicle when it collided with a second vehicle. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The incident prompted a large emergency service response and the eastbound carriageway was closed while the collision was dealt with. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Police also say the collision resulted in “minor injuries only.” ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Two men have were arrested. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital suffering from shock. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The road was closed for around 6 hours, it reopened at midnight. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Witnesses are asked to contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number X003656. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​
