Police confirm body found at West Kirby as that of missing Nicola Faith crew member Ross Ballantine

North Wales Police has said a body found at West Kirby on Friday 12th March is that of Ross Ballantine. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Mr Ballantine went missing along with two others on the Conwy fishing boat the Nicola Faith in January. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Three bodies were recovered from the coastline off the Wirral and Blackpool earlier this month. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Police said yesterday that the body found on the beach at Blackpool had been identified as that of 34-year-old Carl McGrath. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

In relation to Mr Ballantine, the police force said: “We can confirm that the body found at West Kirby on Friday 12th March is that of Ross Ballantine, who went missing along with two others on the Conwy fishing boat ‘Nicola Faith’ in January. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

“The family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

“The family would like to thank the local community and businesses for their tremendous support and donations. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​
