Police appeal for witnesses after fatal motorcycle collision on A494 near Mold

A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a van on the A494 at Llanferres, near Mold, earlier today (Thursday, 6 March).

North Wales Police received a report of the crash, involving a Honda motorcycle and a Mercedes Sprinter van, at 9.16 am.

Emergency services attended, but the motorcyclist was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed, and the Coroner has been notified.

Detective Sergeant Katie Davies of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Our condolences go to the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“We are appealing for any witnesses, or anybody who may have been travelling along the A494 just prior to the collision and who may have dash cam footage to contact us.”*

The road remains closed but is expected to reopen shortly.
