Police appeal following fatal crash in Flintshire last night

Police are appealing for witnesses following after a man died in a crash last in Flintshire

Police say they received reports at 9.50 last night that a red VW Bora had been in a collision on the A541 at Pontblyddyn.

The Fire and Ambulance Service were called to the scene as well as North Wales Police’ Collision Investigation Unit.

Fire crews from Mold and Buckley used cutting equipment to free the man from the car.

Sadly the 31-year-old male occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Jane Thomas from the Roads Policing Unit said:

“I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the red VW Bora travelling on the A541 last night from Wrexham towards the Mold direction to come forward.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and anybody with information is asked to contact us on 101.”

Anybody with information should contact officers at the Eastern Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U037724.
