traffic through Shotton returns to normal following earlier lorry strike on train bridge

Update: Road all clear and traffic moving freely.

Earlier report:Traffic through Shotton is still very heavy following a lorry strike on Shotton train bridge earlier.

The HGV appears to have been travelling along Chester Road East from the Connah’s Quay direction towards Queensferry when it struck the bridge.

Train services have been disrupted due to the bridge strike as engineers from Network Rail will need to assess the bridge for damage.
