Wednesday: The A483 is open this morning under a “contraflow system.”

Tuesday: There are reports of heavy congestion of the A550 from Dobshill travelling towards Wrexham due to overrunning roadworks on the A483.

Traffic is also queuing on the A55 from Broughton to the Posthouse roundabout on the eastbound side and westbound from the Posthouse roundabout to Great Boughton.

Major resurfacing works is taking place on the A483 for the next 9 weeks to replace the road surface that has “reached the end of its serviceable life” from south of J7 Rossett to the Wales/England border. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The road was due to reopen at 6am but a traffic report says the road remains shut. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

A traffic report for the area states: “Road closed and queueing traffic due to overrunning roadworks on A483 both ways between J6 A5156 (Gresford Interchange) and B5445 Wrexham Road.”

“Congestion to Past the Mold Road Interchange for Northbound traffic and back to the A55 J39 (Sainsbury’s / Boughton Heath Roundabout) for Southbound.”

“Slow traffic on the B5445 as people divert around the ongoing closure. Slow traffic on routes through the surrounding areas including Hope,Penyffordd and Cefn-y-bedd. Roadworks were meant to be finished at 06:00.”

Welsh Government has said the majority of the A483 works will be carried out under contraflow which will allow the road to remain open to one lane of traffic in either direction. ‌ ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌There are full overnight closures at certain times to install and dismantle the traffic management system. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌ ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
