Police are appealing for information after two attempted distraction burglaries targeting elderly residents in Deeside

At approximately 11am on Monday June 23, three men, claiming to be from the council attempted to burgle an elderly woman’s home in Garden City.

Inspector Ceri Hawe said;

“We are appealing for information following this incident yesterday morning involving three men. One entered the property while another was stopped by the occupier.  They left the house and nothing was stolen. A third man was seen nearby and they all left together shortly after in a vehicle.

 “The same men had also attempted to call at a neighbour’s home prior to this incident, but were turned away.

 “This is a despicable crime targeting the most vulnerable people in our communities. I am asking resident to be vigilant ensuring that they keep doors locked and to refuse cold callers.”

I would also strongly urge neighbours of vulnerable residents to look out for them and to report suspicious behaviour. Anyone with information about these individuals should call police on 101 quoting crime reference number   RC14094765.
