Cheshire Police appeal for information following a sex attack on a 32 year old woman

Cheshire Police are appealing for information after a 32-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in the village of Cotton Edmunds near Chester.

The incident is believed to have taken place at approximately 7.15pm on Tuesday 30th December as a woman was walking along Cotton Lane, heading towards Cotton Edmunds near Christleton, Chester.

The woman was walking along Cotton Lane when she noticed a white car had pulled up behind her, a man then got out of the vehicle and sexually assaulted her.

After the incident the offender, who is described as white,  medium build with a full head of hair and smelling of alcohol, got back into his car and drove towards the Plough Inn at Cotton Edmunds.

Detective Chief Inspector Nigel Wenham, said:

“We are appealing for information from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident or seen anyone acting suspiciously.
“We would particularly like to speak to anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the incident and may have seen a white car, which only had one red rear light working.”

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 585 of 30/12/14.
