Caffi Isa, the Mynydd Isa community hub, is set to showcase a diverse musical line-up as it joins Independent Venue Week 2025.

The event, running from 27th January to 2nd February, celebrates grassroots music venues across the UK and highlights their role in supporting live performances.

The transformation of this former library space into a thriving arts venue began in 2022, when Tommy Scott, frontman of Britpop band Space, performed an acoustic set of the group’s hits.

Since then, Caffi Isa has hosted a wide variety of events, from comedy nights featuring Delisa Chaponda and Stephen Bailey to contemporary dance and theatre productions.

Sara Parker, Chair of Caffi Isa CIC, the social enterprise behind the venue, said: “We’re really excited about bringing great talent to the area, and Independent Venue Week is a landmark in developing a space to do just that!”

The programme begins on 29th January with a performance by Windborne, an American choral quartet touring with their album To Warm the Winter Heart.

Known for their harmonised renditions of carols and pastorals, the group promises an enchanting evening of music.

On 1st February, the spotlight returns to Tommy Scott, whose lively performances of Space’s hits such as Female of the Species and Neighbourhood have become a staple at Caffi Isa.

Although slightly outside Independent Venue Week, the programme concludes on a high note with an event on 3rd February presented by Theatr Clwyd.

Sinfonia Cymru violinist Ezo Dem Sarici and a group of six young classical and jazz musicians will perform an eclectic mix of music.

Tickets are available via TicketSource or Theatr Clwyd’s website for Ezo Dem Sarici’s performance.
