Police Dog Arlo tracks suspects after two car crashes

A Cheshire and North Wales Police dog played a crucial role in the arrests of two men who fled the scenes of separate car crashes on the same night.
Police Dog (PD) Arlo, along with his handler, was called into action after a high-speed crash on the A55 near Northop.
The suspect had abandoned his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but Arlo tracked the man, leading officers to his location and subsequent arrest.
Reports on social media said the westbound carriageway was closed at around midnight near Junction 33 following a multi-vehicle collision with a “large emergency service presence on scene ”.
Later in Wrexham, Arlo’s services were required once again after another man crashed into parked cars and fled the scene. Police officers quickly set up a perimeter, containing the man in a residential area.
PD Arlo flushed the suspect out from the gardens, enabling officers to take him into custody without further incident.
Police confirmed that two men are now in custody.
Cheshire and North Wales Police praised the efforts of PD Arlo and the wider team for their swift and effective response to both incidents.
This incident highlights the vital role that police dogs play in assisting officers with apprehending suspects who would otherwise escape.
