Judges impressed at St Elthelwold School’s ‘Easter bake off’

AN EASTER bake off competition at a primary school was  judged by Alyn and Deeside politicians Carl Sargeant AM and Mark Tami MP.

Children at St Ethelwold’s School in Shotton baked their own cakes at home and brought them to school to be judged by Carl and Mark, along with baking specialists from ABC Cakes in Shotton and St David’s Park Hotel.

The winners took home cash prizes and chocolate treats to enjoy over the Easter holidays.

Carl said:

“All of the cakes the children made were really impressive. Their designs were really clever and bright.

“Picking the winners was extremely difficult, because everyone’s efforts were excellent. I hope the children enjoy tasting their cakes after all their hard work.”

Mark added: “I was delighted to be asked to judge the cakes at St Ethelwold’s bake off and I was very impressed with the standard of the cakes on display.”
