Residents and local businesses are being invited to have their say on future improvements for local walking, wheeling and cycling along the A548 Bagillt Road, between Greenfield Valley and Pen-y-Maes Road.

Flintshire County Council is working with Sustrans Cymru to make local active travel journeys – walking, wheeling or cycling – more accessible, safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

The aim is to encourage more people to choose active travel options as a better, more inclusive and affordable way for getting out and about around our communities.

Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Transportation, Councillor Glyn Banks, said:

“We really want to hear from people who live, work and travel along the A548 Bagillt Road about the things that work well, what could work better, and how the proposals would benefit them.”

“This is a real opportunity for people to get involved and help shape the future development of this route. I would encourage as many people as possible to have their say.”

Residents can find out more about the project and share their thoughts and feedback by:

  • Visiting the website which has information about the project – https://bit.ly/FlintshireActiveTravel
  • Completing our online survey, available for two weeks from Monday 18th November until Friday 29th November
  • Attending our in-person workshop: Wednesday 20th November at the School Room, Greenfield Valley Heritage Park from 7-8pm.

You can also request a paper version of the consultation survey by contacting Sustrans Cymru via e-mail ([email protected]) or by writing to Sustrans Cymru, One Canal Parade, Dumballs Road, Cardiff, CF10 5BF.

Once the consultation has closed, all feedback will be considered and a draft plan for the A548 Bagillt Road will be created for further consultation with the community before initial proposals for works are developed.
