Supermarket giant Aldi is putting out a call to beer enthusiasts as they resume their search for an Official Beer Taster to review their new line of beers, set to launch on the 11th of September.

The fortunate applicant will have the enviable task of tasting and providing feedback on a selection of fourteen alcoholic beverages, including four pale ales, three IPAs, two beers, four ciders, one stout, and one lager.

Their insights will be instrumental in guiding Aldi’s key decisions for their forthcoming range.

According to Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, the company consistently strives to innovate and excite with their beer offerings.

“We are always experimenting with flavours, from coffee and caramel to watermelon.

The opinions of our beer taster will guide us in crafting our product offering for this year, particularly for flavoured beers,” she commented.

Emma Budd, 27, from Milton Keynes, was chosen to become Aldi’s first-ever Official Beer Taster in 2022.

The beer fanatic impressed judges with her application, in which she explained she loved beer so much, she had tried locally brewed tipples from 51 countries including Antigua, Mykonos, and St Lucia.

Emma, who works for the NHS says: “It was a great opportunity to support Aldi and be part of something I have a passion for – a career highlight!

Being able to taste and share beers ahead of anyone else felt exciting and I loved the variety of flavours on offer. I would encourage anyone who has a passion for beer to apply.”

I loved the variety of flavours on offer and would encourage any beer enthusiasts to apply.”

Those keen to apply for this unique opportunity are required to send an email stating why they think they are suitable for the role and specify their favourite Aldi beer.

They need to provide their full name, proof of age, and, if applicable, their social media handles.

Submissions are open until Monday 21st August, with the chosen winner to be announced by Friday 25th August.

Prospective beer tasters, now is your chance to make your beer-tasting passion an official profession.
