Airbus: First of 65 A350-900s delivered to Emirates

Emirates has officially taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 aircraft, the latest addition to its growing fleet.
The milestone highlights the partnership between Emirates and Airbus, with all A350 wings manufactured at Airbus’ facility in Broughton.
The A350-900 is part of a 65-aircraft order placed by Emirates to enhance its medium and long-haul operations.
With three spacious cabin classes—business, premium economy, and economy—the A350-900 accommodates 312 passengers while delivering industry-leading efficiency and comfort.
The aircraft is equipped with Airbus’ new HBCplus satcom connectivity solution, providing high-speed global internet access.
Emirates is the first airline in the Middle East to introduce this advanced technology.
The A350’s cutting-edge design includes lightweight materials, advanced aerodynamics, and next-generation engines, offering a 25% improvement in fuel efficiency, operating costs, and CO₂ emissions.
Its Airspace cabin design reduces noise levels by 50% compared to previous-generation aircraft, ensuring a quieter flight experience.
Supporting Dubai’s ambitious economic agenda, the A350 will help connect the city to 400 new destinations in the next decade and play a pivotal role in establishing the Dubai World Central mega hub.
By the end of October 2024, Airbus had received more than 1,340 firm orders for the A350 from 60 customers worldwide. As with all Airbus aircraft, the A350 is certified to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with Airbus aiming for 100% SAF capability by 2030.
This first delivery marks a key step in Emirates’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global connectivity.
