Traffic Wales has said the A55 is back open following a collision near Holywell.

Police had closed the eastbound carriageway at J32, and lane westbound as emergency teams, including the fire service, dealt with the incident.

In a statement the force said: “On the A55 eastbound, Junction 31 to Junction 32 is currently closed due to a Road Traffic Incident. Emergency Servicers are currently dealing. Please avoid the area and consider alternative routes on your travels.”

A photograph shared by Traffic Wales shows one vehicle on its side.

Traffic Wales has since confirmed the road is back open, though they warned there is heavy congestion in the area.

Eastbound traffic is queuing back to J33A for Northop.

A traffic report for the area states: “Queueing traffic and one lane closed due to crash on A55 North Wales Expressway Eastbound at J32 A5026 (Holywell). Both carriageways are now open, but one lane remains closed on the eastbound carriageway.”
