23-year-old man charged after serious fail to-stop collision in Saltney

A 23-year-old man has been charged with an alledged hit and run in Saltney which left a child in critical condition.

Police say Keegan Doyle of Warren Drive in Broughton, Flintshire has been charged and remanded to appear before Mold Magistrates Court this morning.

He has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance and arson.

The 27-year-old woman who was also arrested has been charged with obstruct/resist a constable in the execution of duty and has been bailed to appear before Mold Magistrates on February 18th.

The 30-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released without charge.

The 10-year-old boy remains in a critical condition at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.

Sergeant Liam Ho of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the 10-year-old boy.

“The joint investigation into this collision is ongoing and I would like to thank the community of Saltney for their cooperation into this complex enquiry.

 “We would like to thank all those who have come forward with information – the enquiry is very much still ongoing and we continue to appeal to anybody who may have information and who are yet to come forward to make contact with us as soon as possible quoting reference number X002696.”
