Static caravan destroyed by fire on Saturday night at Presthaven

A static caravan at Presthaven Sands in Gronat has been destroyed by fire tonight.

Fire crews, paramedics and police were all called to the site around 9.30pm on Saturday evening.

Pictures on social media show a huge blaze ripping through one of the sites static caravan’s

Reports on Facebook suggest the cause of the fire could have been a BBQ, there’s also reports neighbouring caravans have been damaged by what appeared to be a very intense blaze..

One comment on the Presthaven Owners Club saying:

“Caravan fire on Penarth all ok now now no injuries apparently, but caravan burnt out, all due to a barbecue x”

While another person said on Facebook:

“Interesting just left presthaven and I kid you not gone passed 1 fire engine, 1 ambulance 2 paramedics and 8 police cars going on camp! Hope everything okay!”

A message on the owners club facebook page said

‘Good Evening All, As a safety measure we have had to turn off the Gas to the top end of the park from The Spar Shop Upwards – Penarth Court, Ffrith, Bryn View, Conway Court, Gwydir & Lan Y Mor. Along with this the Electricity to Penarth Court has been turned off as a precautionary measure. Your safety to us is of paramount importance to us and we will keep you updated as soon as we know anything.’

Police have confirmed via twitter there are in attendance.
