Prestigious business award for young entrepreneur

A member of the Flintshire Enterprise Club has received a prestigious business award as the club celebrates its one-year anniversary.

Jordan Barnes, 18, won Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the Free2Network Business Awards 2013.

Jordan, who owns two businesses, JB Sounds and Spotlight Holiday Clubs, has been a member of the club since its inception in January 2013 and took part in the very first Dragon’s Den Cyrmru event designed to offer help and support to young people in business. 

He said: “I have been a member of the enterprise club for 12 months and I have found it extremely helpful. Each week I have gained more business skills and more confidence. My business is now growing fast and it’s all thanks to the team at Communities First. The different guest speakers each week address different business topics and have really helped. I can now say I am definitely a businessman.”

Local businessman Askar Sheibani CEO of Deeside- based telecoms repair company Comtek, who is a mentor for Enterprise Club said;

“We are extremely proud of Jordan Barnes’ achievement of being awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year. It is a great accomplishment for him and for the Enterprise Club, which has supported him since the first Dragon’s Den Cymru event”

Flintshire Enterpirse Club is run by Communities First, It is free to join and meets every other Friday at 10am at John Summers Community Campus.
