Man taken to hospital with serious injuries following Saltney crash

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a one-car collision in Saltney this morning.

Emergency services including police, two emergency ambulances and a fire engine were called the scene of the crash around 6am this morning on Sandy Lane in Saltney.

One passer-by who saw the aftermath said a car he believed to be a BMW was in a ditch, “it looked very serious’ he said.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Sandy Lane in Saltney at about 6am.

“Two emergency ambulances attended the scene and a male was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.”

A second crash in Flintshire this morning left two women needing hospital treatment, it happened around 9am when silver Peugeot hatchback hit the central reservation on the westbound A55 near Ewloe.

The two woman were taken to Wrexham Maelor hospital with minor injuries.
