M56 near Runcorn set to close for three nights this week
In order to complete the essential finishing works for the bridge replacement scheme, the M56 in Cheshire will be closed for three consecutive nights, starting tonight.
The motorway will be shut in both directions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between junctions 11 and 12, from 8 pm to 6 am.
This closure, which will impact those travelling to and from north Wales, is part of National Highways’ £27 million A533 bridge replacement project, which will be completed after 18 months of work.
National Highways has said: “We’re planning on closing the motorway overnight (8pm to 6am) this week between junction 11 and 12 of the M56.”
