In order to complete the essential finishing works for the bridge replacement scheme, the M56 in Cheshire will be closed for three consecutive nights, starting tonight.

The motorway will be shut in both directions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between junctions 11 and 12, from 8 pm to 6 am.

This closure, which will impact those travelling to and from north Wales, is part of National Highways’ £27 million A533 bridge replacement project, which will be completed after 18 months of work. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The closure dates, times and locations are:

  • M56 westbound junction 11 to 12, closed 8pm to 6am
