Thursday March 1 – Update:

The Jet2 plane landed safely back in Manchester just before 12.30pm around two hours after take off.

A Jet2 Boeing 737 is currently circling over parts of Flintshire as it burns fuel ahead of a emergency landing.

Reputable twitter account @airlivenet posted: “ALERT Jet2 #LS809 from Manchester to Malaga is burning fuel before emergency landing.”

Other reports suggest the plane suffered a tail strike on take off from Manchester Airport.

The flight took off from Manchester nearly one and a half hours late at 10.14am and is currently circling over Holywell, Mostyn the Dee Estuary and the Wirral ahead landing back at Manchester.
