How Soft2Bet is Redefining Screen Time in Online Casino Design

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

From checking a message to watching a video or playing a game, screens are a constant part of modern life.

The average adult now spends over six hours and 40 minutes a day on screens, often in dozens of quick bursts spread across apps, devices and formats.

For companies in the online casino sector, this shift in screen use has brought new challenges and opportunities.

One provider, Soft2Bet, has been studying these habits closely to reshape how its platforms are designed and used.

Designing for shorter sessions

“Most people don’t spend hours in one go,” says Yoel Zuckerberg, Soft2Bet’s Chief Product Officer.

“They dip in and out of content, checking their phone throughout the day.

That’s how we approach our platforms – lightweight, fast-loading, easy to start and stop.”

Soft2Bet’s data shows that many users spend around 38 minutes per casino session, but that time is often split into smaller interactions. In response, the company has introduced:

  • Streamlined mobile-first layouts for easy access
  • Anchored menus so players don’t lose their place
  • Session reminders after 30 minutes of play
  • Screen time dashboards for personal tracking

These features are designed to offer an experience that’s both engaging and mindful of how fragmented screen time has become.

From quick play to longer sessions

Not all users are popping in for two-minute bursts. Some set aside an hour in the evening to watch a show, message friends, and play a few games. Soft2Bet caters for both styles.

Zuckerberg explains: “We want people to have a smooth experience whether they’re checking in for a minute or staying for a full session. Our platform supports both, and gently encourages balance when sessions run longer.”

Soft2Bet’s approach includes reality check tools, spending prompts, and optional limits, all in line with UK regulations on responsible gambling.

Why screen time is now central to design

The rise in mobile-first behaviour means that even a single notification can trigger a session.

People unlock their phones dozens of times per day, with apps like TikTok, YouTube and Netflix dominating attention spans.

A recent article from iGaming Business highlights how online casinos like Soft2Bet are adapting to this change in average screen time.

Gen Z users now average more than seven hours of daily screen exposure, often broken into one- to two-minute app sessions.

To meet these habits, Soft2Bet brands are increasingly built around:

  • Quick access via localised mobile design
  • Minimal loading times and fast sign-in
  • Flexible layouts that match user preferences by region and age

Age and region also play a role

Screen time patterns vary not only by device, but by age and geography. Zuckerberg says that understanding local behaviours is key: “Players in

South Africa might spend over nine hours daily online.

Gen Z users hop between apps every minute.

Older generations prefer clearer navigation and simpler menus.”

By tracking these differences, Soft2Bet aims to provide an adaptable interface that supports a wide range of users, from occasional players to those who use casino apps as part of their regular screen time.
