Good news for Broughton’s wingmakers as Avolon signs deal for 100 A321neo Airbus aircraft
There’s good news for Broughton’s wingmakers, as the aviation leasing industry leader, Avolon, has signed a deal for 100 A321neo Airbus aircraft.
The latest deal takes Avolon’s total order for the single-aisle plane to 190, Airbus confirmed.
The substantial order is a testament to Avolon’s confidence in the long-term growth of the aviation sector and its commitment to providing modern, fuel-efficient aircraft to its airline customers.
Andy Cronin, CEO of Avolon, expressed the company’s robust outlook for the aviation industry and its strategic planning. “This order strengthens our delivery pipeline and reflects our confidence in the long-term growth outlook for aviation,” said Cronin.
He emphasised that Avolon’s total order of 292 A320neo family aircraft solidifies its capability to support airline clients’ fleet expansion and replacement strategies into the next decade.
Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International at Airbus, praised Avolon’s investment in the A321neo.
He remarked, “This investment is a testimony by one of the world’s leading lessors to the unprecedented value the world’s most versatile single-aisle aircraft generates for its lessor and operator base.” Scherer highlighted Avolon’s foresight in securing long-term slots for its strong airline customer portfolio with aircraft that are well-suited for future market demands.
With the latest agreement, Avolon’s total firm orders from Airbus now stand at 632 aircraft, encompassing the A320, A330, and A350 families.
Earlier in September, Avolon had placed an order for 20 A330neo aircraft, tapping into the growing global demand for widebody aircraft.
