Delays heading out of Deeside following an accident on the M56

Police are asking motorists to avoid the M56 eastbound from junction 14 because of an accident involving a lorry and a car. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Congestion is backed up to J15 M53, on A5117 to the B5132 Cryers Lane junction and to J16 A5117. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The Highways Agency say there are currently delays of 50 minutes against free flowing traffic. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Two lanes of the M56 are closed and there is slow moving traffic on the westbound side as people slow to look at the accident. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Cheshire Fire Brigade who have been at the scene have said: ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

“Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a car. The crew assisted paramedics with two casualties. The hard shoulder and lane one remained open during the incident.” ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

TOM TOM traffic app is currently quoting around 1.5hrs delay to travel times ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​
