North Wales Police Rural Crime Team are asking for information after a Peregrine Falcon was found dead in Deeside today, Wednesday 27 April.

The exact location of where the bird was found has not been revealed.

Police have sent the dead bird of prey to a Welsh Government laboratory for a post mortem and toxicology tests to determine the cause of death.

Sgt Rob Taylor from the North Wales Police Rural Crime Team said on twitter:

“Fingers crossed this isn’t our first poisoning of the year. Tests will prove otherwise.
“Tests are done on birds of prey to check for early signs of any emerging diseases that may affect the rest of the native UK population.

Anyone with any information about the death of this protected bird can contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
