County Lines: Arrests made in Deeside following joint police operation
A number of arrests have been made in Deeside today following a successful joint police operation.
North Wales Police, working in tandem with Merseyside Police, conducted the operation as part of Project Medusa, a crackdown on county lines drug supply in the area.
According to the authorities, a 46-year-old man from Connah’s Quay was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, as well as possession of an offensive weapon and money laundering.
He was also alleged to be in possession of a substantial amount of cash.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man from Kirkby, Merseyside was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and is now in police custody for further questioning.
Two more individuals were arrested for possession with intent to supply, and three more for drug driving.
Chief Inspector Emma Parry emphasised that this operation is just the start of their efforts to target those involved in the county lines drug supply.
CI Parry said: “Today’s operation is just one example of the work we are doing to target those involved in County Lines drugs supply that has a significant impact on the towns and cities of North Wales, and the levels of crime and disorder in our communities.
“We are focussed on disrupting and targeting those involved and we will continue to work with Merseyside Police and other forces to combat this issue and support those who are being exploited at the hands of organised crime gangs.
“I would encourage the community to pass any information they have to North Wales Police via the website here – or by calling 101.
“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously online, or by calling 0800 555 111.”
