Wrexham’s temporary Kop stand given green light and will open with 80% capacity for Newport game
Wrexham AFC say they are pleased to confirm they have received council approval for the temporary stand on The Kop, which will be open at 80% capacity for Saturday’s game against Newport County.
Tickets will be available to buy online, for members only, from 4pm today.
The club say for the Newport game only, tickets are available to buy online only as digital tickets and can be purchased from our eTicketing website. There will be no tickets available from the Club Shop.
Our sister site Wrexham.com asked Wrexham Council about the ‘hurdles’ referenced by the club around licensing yesterday. Wrexham Council did not respond.
Once fully open the temporary stand will have a capacity of 2,289 and accommodation for an additional 20 wheelchairs with access via Crispin Lane. There are no indications what is required to get to 100% capacity.
The council recently came under fire when the full redevelopment Kop had a capacity refusal, something that caused a minor kick off with councillors.
