Connah’s Quay Cricket Club theft, £500 donation from recruitment firm CEO

Hundreds of pounds worth of equipment was stolen from Connah’s Quay Cricket Club earlier this month, prompting community leaders in the town to ask for witnesses to contact police.

Gary Dewhurst C.E.O. gap personnel

Gary Dewhurst, founder of recruitment firm gap Personnel, offered to make a £500 donation to the club to replace some of the lost equipment.

Carl Sargeant AM said:

“As soon as the appeal was made, Gary got in touch with me to ask for contact details for the club and said he wanted to make a donation to help them.

“I believe he has now spoken with the chairman and £500 is on its way to the club, which is absolutely fantastic news.

“Incidents like this, while unfortunate, really show that community spirit is still very much alive in Deeside.

It’s great that companies, clubs and organisations are willing to step in and help each other out when things go wrong.

“I hope the donation helps to soften the blow Connah’s Quay Cricket Club has suffered and I would like to thank Gary and the team at gap Personnel for their generosity.”
