Community leaders will be outside Morrisons in Saltney on Friday morning, gathering signatures from people who want to see a pharmacy set up inside the supermarket.

The plan by Morrisons was rejected last year, but the Welsh Government decision was quashed after representation from Alyn and Deeside AM Carl Sargeant, other elected members and local residents.

The application and appeals against it will now be reconsidered and a fresh decision is is expected to be made in October 2013.

Saltney residents have been urged to have their say and will be able to sign the petition outside the store from 10.30am on Friday, September 20.

Carl said: “This is a great opportunity for people to show their support for the application and I know many are keen to see Saltney get its own pharmacy.

“It’s really important for residents to make sure their views are heard, so I and other community leaders can make representations on their behalf to those who will make a final decision.”

Residents can also send their views by post to Carl’s office at 70 High Street, Connah’s Quay, Deeside, CH5 4DD or by email to carl.sargeant@wales.gov.uk.
