Coastguard rescue teams called out to assist an injured elderly man in Flint

Volunteer Coastguard rescue teams from Flint and Rhyl were called into action earlier today, Wednesday March 8.

The teams were paged by Holyhead Coastguard Operations Centre just before 3pm following reports of an injured male in the Flint area.

An 81 year-old man had received leg injuries following a fall on the public footpath behind the Flint recycling centre.

Once on scene the teams were guided to the location of the casualty by members of the public where he was assessed by Coastguard Officers.

The casualty was stabilised and given care for a badly broken ankle whilst waiting for the arrival of Ambulance.

Both Coastguard teams assisted in transferring the man to a waiting Ambulance.
