Chester FC: Flintshire Council receives planning application for Deva Stadium upgrade

Plans have been submitted for an extension to the East Stand at Chester’s Deva Stadium.
The project aims to create a new accessible viewing gallery and improved entrance facilities.
The application was registered on 6 February 2025 and is currently under review by Flintshire Council.
The proposal includes a range of associated works to improve the public spaces around the stadium, which is home to Chester FC.
The upgrades are designed to provide better access for all visitors, particularly those with mobility needs.
The Deva Stadium is situated on the Sealand Road Industrial Estate and straddles the England-Wales border.
While the pitch lies entirely within Flintshire, parts of the stadium—such as the car park, main entrance, and some offices—are in England.
The main entrance gate is accessed from Bumpers Lane in Chester, adding an unusual geographical twist to the stadium’s layout.
The proposed East Stand extension will further enhance facilities on the Welsh side of the stadium.
Submitted by Euan Kellie Property Solutions, the proposal aims to make the stadium more accessible and welcoming for all visitors.
Associated works include improvements to the public realm surrounding the site.
The target determination date for the application is 3 April 2025.
Flintshire Council will now review the application before making a decision.
