Holywell Town Council have set a ‘community challenge’ as a number of new gateway signs have been installed this week. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The town council is installing six ‘differently themed’ gateway signs on all of the main routes into the town centre which will lend themselves to a family challenge. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

A representative for Holywell Town Council said: “Can you be the family to spot all six gateway signs when you go for a walk? Send your selfies to us here at Holywell Town Council. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“Entered photographs will make up a montage for the next cover picture of our Facebook page!” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The new signs, as seen in the example pictured above, welcome both visitors and residents to the town as well as see them out in English and Welsh. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Welsh translation on the signs has been confirmed by the Welsh Language Commissioner, Aled Roberts, whose role is to promote use of the Welsh language. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The council also says the themes of each sign represent different aspects of the ‘Destination Holywell’ town branding, which can be seen across their websites and social media. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The branding is the work of Daydream Designs, who say “it was a real privilege” to create Holywell Town Council’s official brand having lived and worked in the area for most of their lives. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Holywell Town Council’s representative said: “Holywell Town Council has used Daydream Designs regularly in the past for the production of banners and booklets for the annual Well Inn Festival, and more recently commissioned DD to design and develop a branding concept to be used to promote all that the Holywell Community has to offer. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“From this the ‘Destination Holywell’ branding was born which we are now using to great effect on our promotional material, stationery and social media. The Town Council are now looking forward to seeing the brand grow across the community in the future.” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

To get involved with the challenge, send your entry to their email support.officer@holywell.wales or their Facebook https://www.facebook.com/holywelltowncouncilcommunity/. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
