BROUGHTON: Police appeal for information after children approached by stranger.

North Wales Police are appealing for any information following a suspicious incident in Broughton on Friday evening (July 18th)

Police are looking for the driver of a silver coloured VW possibly a Bora similar to the one in the picture.

Police officers were informed that a man driving a silver coloured Volkswagen, possibly a Bora, approached two children in the Broughton area and spoke to them, the incident happened at around 7:45pm 

No attempt was made by the driver to touch the children however they are treating the incident as suspicious.

Local Inspector Sharon McCairn said:

“Officers attended and spoke to the children and their families. A search was made of the area which proved negative however our inquiries are continuing. I appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen a silver coloured Volkswagen car, possibly a Bora, to please get in touch with us.

 “The driver of the car is described as being between 30 and 40 years of age and bald. A woman with blonde hair is believed to have been travelling in the back of the vehicle which was also described as having dinosaur / dragon shades on the windows.”

Anybody  with information or who may have witnessed the incident should call police at Mold on 101 quoting reference number R109994. Alternatively, individuals can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
