Airbus kicks of Farnborough airshow with new model launch and an 85 jet order.

Airbus has launched the A330-800neo and A330-900neo, two new members of its Widebody Family, which will incorporate latest generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines.

The A330neo is revamped model of its existing A330 wide-body jet, it will deliver 14 percent of fuel savings and is seen as a direct competitor to the equally high profile Boeing Dreamliner.

Air lease corporation (ALC) the LA based leasing corporation announced Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 25 A330-900neo aircraft  becoming the first launch customer for the new Airbus Widebody.

“The recently launched A330neo is a well-suited addition to ALC’s fleet as we continue to provide our customers with the most modern, fuel efficient aircraft on the market,” said Steven F. Udvar-Házy, Air Lease Corporation’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. 

This latest iteration of the A330 model will offer passengers enhanced inflight entertainment including WiFi, mobile connectivity and HD video, Airbus’ new plane will also offer passengers the chance to watch films in 3D.
