SKIPPER Ian Kearney says the Airbus UK Broughton camp is buzzing ahead of Saturday’s live TV top of the table clash with The New Saints.

The unbeaten Wingmakers currently lead the Welsh Premier with 19 points from a possible 21, while the visitors lie in second place.

“We’re going into the game in a great position,” Kearney told the Flintshire Chronicle.

“TNS are expected to win the league and they should do being the only full-time side, but we’ll give it our best shot.

“We’ve had a great start, the changing room is buzzing and everyone’s looking forward to it.”

Kearney admits the live TV cameras give the game an extra edge but says that, once the whistle goes, “you’re in the zone and that wont’ matter.”

The 29-year-old added: “We know they will have a lot of possession because they are a quality side, but we’ll play our own game.

“We had good results against them last season so we know we can beat them and we’re confident we can give a good account of ourselves.”

Airbus will be without striker Chris Simm, who starts a six-game ban, while midfielder Glenn Rule remains sidelined with an Achilles problem.

Director of football Andy Preece says his players have nothing to lose against TNS.

“They are a couple of leagues better than everyone else,” he says.

“If we beat them people will talk, but we know what’s realistic and that’s finishing second. But, having said, they’ll lose the odd game and we’ve got to go for it.”
