The match between Airbus FC and Bala Town was called off earlier today after a fault with one of Broughton clubs retractable floodlight.

Referee Bryn Markham Jones called the game off just 25 minutes before kick-off at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

The stadium which adjacent to an active runway, has several floodlight pylons which are retractable so that they can be lowered after matches to avoid interference with flight operations.

The referee decided the game could not go ahead on the grounds of health and safety after Airbus FC officials failed in attempts to elevate the floodlight pylon to its required height.

No date has been set for the fixture to be played between the Welsh Premier League’s bottom club Airbus FC, and third placed Bala FC.
